La Bendita Produce
Stories that travel from the local to the global
La Bendita Produce is an independent fiction film production company based in Aragón, Spain, founded in 2019 by Daniel Vergara and Leo Dolgan.
We champion projects committed to their surroundings: stories that start from the local to reach anywhere, that show other realities and invite reflection.
Our first feature, Armugán – The Last End-of-life Doula (Jo Sol, 2020), premiered in the Official Selection at the 24th Black Nights Film Festival in Tallinn, where it won the Prize of the Ecumenical Jury and the Best Music Award. In 2021 it won the Prix Jules Verne for Best Film, shared with Baby, at the Nantes Spanish Film Festival, and screened at the 45th São Paulo International Film Festival and the 37th Haifa International Film Festival. We are now in post-production on That Liminal Place (Ese lugar inexistente), by Alejandro Alonso and Alejandro Pérez, a co-production with France's Poetik Film 17 that won awards during development at Márgenes WORK, L'Alternativa PRO and MajorDocs, while developing five other projects in parallel.

Daniel Vergara
A graduate in Audiovisual Communication. In 2019 he founded La Bendita Produce with Leo Dolgan. He won the Simón Award for Best Cinematography for Armugán and for Marcelino, el mejor payaso del mundo. He is now producing That Liminal Place.

Leo Dolgan
A graduate of EICTV (Cuba). In 2019 he founded La Bendita Produce with Daniel Vergara. He worked on the sound of films such as Glimmers, The Maternal, Creatura and Afternoons of Solitude, and teaches sound at ESCAC and Universitat Pompeu Fabra. He is now producing That Liminal Place.
Executive producer
María Carla del Río Betancourt
Cuban-Spanish producer specialising in international co-productions. An EICTV graduate, EAVE member and Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres. She directed Nuevas Miradas EICTV from 2017 to 2019 and founded Marinca Filmes; her credits include Fenómenos naturales and Vamos a la playa. She joined La Bendita Produce in 2025 and is now executive producer of That Liminal Place.
